ADULT EDUCATION

Palms Adult Education Ministry Team recognizes that we all are in different places in our faith journey. Whether you are just starting to ask questions and seek understanding, or if you are a self-professed Bible study fanatic, we provide opportunities for your continued growth. Jesus’ disciples sat at his feet learning about the life of faith. This foundation enabled them to live their faith as they were sent out to serve God’s mission in the world. Through group studies on Sunday mornings and throughout the week, we also seek to learn from Jesus and one another about who we are and how we are to live as Christ’s disciples. We want to create safe space to discuss difficult issues of faith and doubt, to encourage one another in our journeys, and to be nurtured by the grace of Jesus Christ.

MAY 14

Meditation Techniques, Led by Sally Nielsen, Library

Whether you love meditation or think it’s not for you, this 2-part class is for you! For most of us our relationship with God involves a lot of talking and not much listening. Meditation offers us opportunities to listen, therefore being still before our Lord is an important faith practice that expands our relationship with God. We will engage in 20 minutes of meditation followed by sharing and discussion.

Faithful Citizen, Led by Mark Inglis & Scott Matthews, RM203

This class will explore how we, as citizens and Christians, respond to God's calling in civic and social matters that shape our global society today. In a deeply divided and fractured world, how do we balance individual concerns with working for the greater good? As people of faith, how do we find common ground and common cause on issues that deeply divide us, both politically and theologically?
