In the simplest terms, worship is gathering together as a community of faith to glorify and enjoy God. Each week the Palms community gathers to worship through prayers that express our joys and concerns to God, confessions along with assurances of God's forgiveness, sermons that reflect on the interaction of scripture and our daily lives, and music that breathes life into us. We gather in worship as a community to lay our lives out before God, to be transformed and prepared to go out into the world to serve God wherever we find ourselves.
We gather as a community three times each Sunday. The 8:30 and 11 a.m. services gather in the sanctuary and are more traditional, while Sunset at Palms meets in the chapel at 5:45 p.m. and is more casual and contemporary, with communion celebrated each week.
During the week there is a service of healing and wholeness, “Shalom Sabbath”, each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. This is a time to come together in a space set apart to lament our pain and the pain of our neighbors, to hear and speak words of hope and healing, and to feel the touch of Christ in our gathered community.
